TCA is a medium-depth chemical peel containing trichlorocetic acid. TCA is used to treat long-term sun damage, mild to moderate wrinkles, more severe acne scars, and pigment discoloration. The peel is performed as an outpatient service with mild discomfort and minimal downtime. Due to the deeper penetration of chemicals, a sloughing of the skin occurs after the procedure and you must refrain from wearing makeup 5-7 days while your skin is healing. Re-treatment may be recommended after 6-12 months to produce the best results.
